The Project
Sanctuary Cafe is being refurbished, rebuilt and reopened!
After many years of planning, praying and preparing we now have approval to undertake remodelling of Sanctuary Cafe.
Sanctuary Cafe is sited in the Church Hall of Lymm United Reformed Church, a building erected in the sixties and which has served the United Reformed Church with activities such as Scouts, Brownies and Boys Brigade over many years and hosted many meetings, concerts and other functions over a long period of time.
The building is showing its age in respect of tired woodwork, leaking roof and so on, and is not compliant with modern insulation standards.
The kitchen has long been unsuitable for serving a thriving cafe and it is only down to the hard work, patience and ingenuity of the staff that we have coped so well until today.
Having secured planning permission from Warrington Borough Council and Mersey Synod of the United Reformed Church we now have the go-ahead to make the vision a reality.
We are working with Lymm based architects CB3 who have produced plans and funding estimates for the project

The Challenge
We need to raise the funds required to complete the project, a sum of the order of £700,000.
We have many plans in place for events which we trust will bring in much needed revenue. We anticipate that the majority of the funding will come from grants and awards from funding bodies which exist to supply much needed finace to charitable and community projects such as ours. The building is part of and owned by the United Reformed Church who have offered funding toward the cost of the project
The plea
Are you willing and able to contribute to the funding of this ambitious project?
As an individual or as a representative of an organisation or a company would you be prepared to make a contribution? Any small donation is most welcome and we hope to attract donations from larger bodies or from generous individuals who have a heart to see Sanctuary Cafe develop and grow into the coming years as we continue to offer luscious food and the best coffee in town.
We can accept contributions in person at the cafe and through our JustGiving page. Click below.
