What's the point of Easter?

If Christmas is about a baby in a manger, angels, donkeys and wise men bringing gifts then what are we 'celebrating' at Easter?

We all enjoy a birthday celebration, that is what we do at Christmas, along with presents, turkey, pigs-in-blankets and brussels sprouts!

So what is Easter about? On Good Friday we remember the grisly execution of an innocent man who claimed to be the Son of God but on Easter Sunday we rejoice as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who really is the Son of  God.

If this is all true then what does it mean to us today?
